The ReSpiin cushions and plaids are made from recycled wool.

Waste clothing is collected through recycling programs around the world and sent back to India for sorting and rework. Although this seems to be a long way for clothing to travel, it is in fact an advantage for the many container ships that return to India to have some weight on board.

Once arrived in India, the clothing is sorted in fabric type and color. Our supplier only uses wool and wool blends and the resulting fabric is at least 65% wool, 35% other fibers (usually polyester and nylon). The clothing is cleaned, broken down, processed into fibers, spun into yarn and then woven into fabric. The fabric color is the result of the original woolen fabrics – no dyes are added.

Respiin works with local producers who are proud of what they do and, last but not least, offer their employees a fair wage.
